Cuyabeno Wildife Reserve

Established in 1979, the 603,380 square kilometer Cuyabeno Fauna Protection Reserve spans much of Sucumbios province in western Ecuador.

The reserve is located in the Amazonian rainforest and stretches as far west as the Peruvian border.

Average temperature hovers over 25˚C, yet the tropical region is known for its varied seasons.

The dry summer lasts from December to March, while April to August winters are cooler and wet.
