Getting to Secoya Lodge

altSecoya Lodge is located within the territory belonging to the Secoya nation.

Secoya land consists of 30,000 hectares (74,128.98 acres) of primary and secondary rain forest bordering the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve and alongside the Aguarico River.

You will need to find your way down to Coca in order to meet our private transport.

The tour’s itinerary requires that you be in Coca’s airport (airport code OCC) by 7:30 am on the day of departure.

There are two ways to get there from Quito:

  • The quickest and easiest way is to book a flight from Quito (airport code UIO).
  • Two airlines fly to Coca, Aerogal (www.aerogal.com.ec) and TAME (www.tame.com.ec/index.php?lang=en).
  • TAME has the flight that arrives at 7:30 am, so it is recommended to book this flight. If you choose to fly, Secoya Lodge can make arrangements for your flight reservation.
  • The other way to get to Coca is the tried and true bus ride from Quito to Coca. The best way to travel is by private coach called Trans Esmeraldas (www.transesmeraldas.com). You can take the overnight bus to Coca, which leaves every night at 8:30 and 9:30 pm. Once you get to the Trans Esmeraldas station in Coca, you can catch a cab to the airport to await the private transport.
